Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Nordax AI, entity profiles, AI visibility, and how to make your business discoverable by the next generation of search.

💡

General

What is Nordax AI?

Nordax AI is a structured entity identity platform. It lets businesses create machine-readable profiles that AI systems — like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and voice assistants — can understand, trust, and surface in their responses. Think of it as making your business natively readable to the machines that increasingly drive search and discovery.

How is this different from a regular business directory?

Traditional directories are built for human visitors browsing web pages. Nordax AI is built for machines. Your entity profile outputs structured data in Schema.org JSON-LD format, is served through machine-readable API endpoints, and is designed to be instantly parseable by AI models and knowledge graphs — not just displayed on a webpage.

Who is Nordax AI for?

Any business that wants to be accurately represented when people ask AI assistants questions. This is especially valuable for local businesses, professional services, healthcare, legal, financial, and any business that relies on being found through search — whether that search happens on Google, in ChatGPT, or through a voice assistant.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free tier includes one entity profile with your core business information displayed in the entity network. You can claim your business and have a presence without paying anything — ever. Paid plans unlock richer structured data outputs, verification badges, AI visibility scoring, and more.

SEO & Search

Will this help my SEO?

Yes, but not in the traditional way. Nordax AI doesn't do keyword research or backlink building — there are already great tools for that. What we do is make your business a well-structured, machine-readable entity that search engines and AI systems can confidently reference. Google increasingly uses structured entity data for rich results, knowledge panels, and AI Overviews. A verified, complete entity profile strengthens that foundation.

Does this work for standard Google search?

Absolutely. Google reads Schema.org structured data. Your entity profile generates JSON-LD that Google can consume directly. This can improve how your business appears in standard search results — including rich snippets, local packs, and knowledge panels — because Google has a clearer, more complete picture of your business as an entity.

Does this work for voice search?

Yes. Voice assistants like Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa rely heavily on structured data and entity resolution to answer questions like 'What's the best plumber near me?' or 'Is [business] open now?' A complete entity profile with services, location, hours, and structured data gives voice assistants the exact formatted data they need to feature your business in spoken results.

Does this work for AI search (ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.)?

This is what Nordax AI is primarily built for. AI models like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity are becoming a major discovery channel. They don't click links the way Google does — they consume structured data, evaluate trust signals, and synthesize answers. Your entity profile provides exactly what these systems need: clean, structured, verifiable information with clear provenance and trust markers.

Do I still need regular SEO?

Yes. Nordax AI complements traditional SEO — it doesn't replace it. Think of traditional SEO as optimizing for how Google ranks web pages, and entity optimization as ensuring AI systems understand who you are as a business. Both matter, and they reinforce each other. A strong entity identity actually makes your traditional SEO more effective.

AI Visibility Score

What is the AI Visibility Score?

The AI Visibility Score (0–100) measures how well your business is set up to be discovered and accurately represented by AI systems. It evaluates five dimensions: entity discoverability, schema completeness, entity consistency across surfaces, machine accessibility of your website, and trust & authority signals.

How is the score calculated?

The score is computed by our Visibility Engine, which scans your website and entity profile across five dimensions: Entity Discoverability — can AI find and resolve your business identity, Schema Completeness — how complete is your structured data, Entity Consistency — does your information match across surfaces, Machine Accessibility — can crawlers access and read your site data, and Trust & Authority — security, verification, and cross-platform presence. Each dimension contributes to a combined score out of 100.

How often is my score updated?

Scores are recalculated daily. Our system scans your website, checks your entity profile completeness, and evaluates cross-surface consistency every 24 hours. You'll receive notifications when your score changes significantly — so you know when improvements take effect or when something needs attention.

What's a good score?

Most businesses start with a low score because they have minimal structured data visible to AI systems. Claiming and completing your entity profile significantly improves your score. Businesses with complete profiles, verified status, and optimized websites score the highest. Check the Visibility Score Explained article on our blog for a full breakdown of score grades.

Entity Profiles & Data

What data does my entity profile include?

Your profile includes your business name, type, address, phone, website, description, services offered, service areas, operating hours, images, social links, industry classifications, and more. All of this is structured using Schema.org standards so it's natively readable by any AI system or search engine that follows web standards.

What are structured data outputs?

Structured data outputs are machine-readable files generated from your entity profile. These include JSON-LD (Schema.org), which can be embedded on your website or accessed via our API. AI models and search engines read these outputs to understand your business as a defined entity — not just a web page with text on it.

What happens if I don't claim my profile?

Unclaimed profiles remain visible in the entity network with basic publicly-available information. You won't have control over the data, won't receive a visibility score, and your profile won't output structured data. Claiming is free and gives you full control over your business's AI identity.

Can I have multiple entity profiles?

Yes. Paid plans allow multiple entities. This is especially useful for businesses with multiple locations, franchises, or parent companies managing subsidiary brands. Enterprise plans include bulk management tools and unified dashboards for large portfolios.

Verification & Trust

What does verification mean?

Verification proves you are the authorized representative of the business. We offer multiple levels: email verification (confirm you control a business email), domain verification (prove website ownership via DNS record), and full verification (comprehensive identity check). Higher verification levels earn stronger trust signals that AI systems factor into their confidence scoring.

What's the difference between tier badges?

Free accounts have no badge. Basic plans get access to structured data outputs. Verified plans earn a verified trust badge visible on your profile and in data outputs — this signals to AI systems that the data has been authenticated. Authority plans get a stronger authority badge and additional capabilities. Gold status is reserved for entities whose digital infrastructure is built and maintained by Nordax Digital.

How do AI systems use trust signals?

When AI models need to answer a question about a business, they evaluate multiple signals to decide how much to trust the data: Is the source authoritative? Is the data structured? Is it consistent across surfaces? Is the business verified? A verified entity profile with consistent, well-structured data gives AI systems the confidence to surface your business in their responses.

⚙️

Technical

Do I need to be technical to use Nordax AI?

Not at all. Creating and managing your entity profile is as simple as filling out a form. All the structured data, API endpoints, and machine-readable outputs are generated automatically. If you want to embed structured data on your own website, we provide copy-paste code snippets — but that's optional, not required.

What is JSON-LD and why does it matter?

JSON-LD (JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data) is the format Google and other AI systems prefer for structured data. It's a way of describing your business in a standardized, machine-readable format that any AI model can parse. When we say your entity profile outputs JSON-LD, we mean your business information is automatically formatted in the language AI already speaks.

What is an llms.txt file?

llms.txt is an emerging standard (similar to robots.txt) that tells AI language models where to find authoritative structured data about your domain. Nordax AI generates this file for your entity, making it trivially easy for AI crawlers to discover and consume your business data. It's a small step with outsized impact on AI discoverability.

Does Nordax AI have an API?

Yes. All entity data is available through our public REST API at api.nordax.ai. This allows developers, partners, and AI systems to programmatically access your structured entity data. Paid plans include API keys for authenticated access to your own entity management endpoints.
